Round Rock Express Present Full Wardrobe of Specialty Jerseys

March 30, 2017 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express will sport many different looks throughout the 2017 season, with six different specialty jerseys announced Wednesday morning. Several of the themed jerseys will be available for purchase at auction, with proceeds benefiting local charities.

On May 5, the Express will transform in to the Round Rock Dance Halls in homage to Central Texas' deep roots in country music and the famous Texas two-step. Thanks to D.R. Horton, the Dance Halls will suit up in western-style royal blue uniforms with red accents and silver lettering. The ballcap features a belt-buckle wearin', cowboy hat totin', fiddle playin' figure that any Texan would certainly be proud of.

Round Rock's annual Military Appreciation Night, held on May 22, features special digital camoflague uniforms, presented by Metro PCS. All proceeds from the in-game jersey auction will benefit the Vetted Foundation, an organization that helps transition proven military leaders into industry leaders and entrepreneurs.

After last year's wildly popular "Round Rock FireAnts" uniforms, the Express will once again examine "What Could Have Been" by spending June 1-3 as the Round Rock Jackalopes. That moniker was another team name finalist when the franchise was founded prior to the 2000 season.

The dark blue uniform tops, sponsored by D.R. Horton, feature a leaping Jackalope below the temporary team nickname, accented with wood-pattern lettering. Dark blue caps also include the iconic Jackalope logo. Jackalopes apparel will be available for purchase in the Railyard Team Store. The jerseys will be auctioned during the June 3 game, with proceeds benefiting Drive A Senior, a nonprofit that provides senior citizens with access to much-needed transportation.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, Round Rock will suit up in special red uniforms with red and blue stars incorporated into the Express lettering and numbers, thanks to eBay. Funds raised during the in-game jersey auction will benefit Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas .

From August 4-5, Round Rock will pay tribute to the Texas Rangers iconic 70s uniforms with "fauxbacks" of their own. Mirroring the Rangers' digs, the Express will don powder blue uniforms with red lettering as well as red, white and blue piping on the neck and sleeves. White ballcaps feature a custom fauxback Round Rock logo complete with a Nolan Ryan-inspired steam locomotive. Thanks again to D.R. Horton, the uniform auction proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society .

For 80s Night on August 19, the Express will sport black Pac Man-inspired uniform tops, complete with characters from the classic arcade game, presented by Rush Automotive. Proceeds from the jersey auction will go to benefit Austin Angels, a nonprofit organization that provides foster children with caretakers who offer consistent support through giving, relationship building and mentoring.

The Express will again host Shirt-Off-Their-Back Night on September 2. In the only jersey raffle of the season, fans can win a jersey literally off the back of an Express coach or player following the game. All proceeds from the auction will go to benefit Jana's House through Family Legacy Missions International, a home for orphaned girls opened this past December in Zambia in honor of Express President Chris Almendarez' late wife.

The Express open the 2017 season on Thursday, April 6 against the Nashville Sounds (Oakland Athletics affiliate). Single game tickets, season memberships, Flex Plans and Kids Club packages are on sale now. For more information on the Express, visit www.RoundRockExpress.com or call (512) 255-2255.
