Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The battle for the music city title is on! The Round Rock Express and Nashville Sounds have announced a two-game home-and-home series to #BattleForTheBoot in 2017.

The series will feature both teams wearing jerseys best representing their respective music-centric city. As previously announced, the Round Rock Express will become the Round Rock Dance Halls while the Nashville Sounds morph into the Nashville Honky Tonks.

Game one of the two-game series is scheduled for Thursday, May 5 at Dell Diamond. Game two is scheduled for Thursday, June 29 at First Tennessee Park in Nashville.

"Texas is the birthplace of real country music and turning into the Dance Halls for two nights allows us to showcase those deep roots," said Express President Chris Almendarez. "We can't wait to proudly display the Battle for the Boot trophy at Dell Diamond this season."

Round Rock's Dance Hall western-style royal blue uniforms feature red accents and silver lettering. The ballcap highlights a belt-buckle wearin', cowboy hat totin', fiddle playin' figure that any Texan would certainly be proud of.

Nashville's specialty jerseys feature a navy blue front with neon blue gradient sleeves. Scrolling across the chest is "Honky Tonks" in neon red with electric yellow trim. Along with the unique jerseys describing the famous Honky Tonks, the Sounds will also sport new hats. The navy blue cap features a neon red "N" with a guitar that features the Nashville skyline.

The two teams will compete on the field for the inaugural Battle for the Boot trophy. If they split the series, a social media vote through Twitter will decide the contest.

The Express open the 2017 season on Thursday, April 6 against the Nashville Sounds (Oakland Athletics affiliate). Single game tickets, season memberships, Flex Plans and Kids Club packages are on sale now. For more information on the Express, visit www.RoundRockExpress.com or call (512) 255-2255.
