Sioux City, Iowa- Nick Oddo scored twice and Troy Grosenick needed to make just nine saves as the RoughRiders blanked the Fargo Force 4-0 Thursday at the Fall Classic preseason tournament in Sioux City.
Oddo opened the scoring when his shot from the slot broke in off Fargo goaltender Mike Lee at 8:20 of the first period.
At 12:25 of the first Oddo buried the rebound after Lee stopped a Derik Johnson drive.
At the other end the Force did not generate a single first period shot on goal.
At 12:03 of the third period Cedar Rapids was on the power play when Greg Burke fired the puck home off the cross bar to extend the lead to 3-0.
Tobias Nilsson-Roos capped off the win by converting Mike Seidel's centering pass with just over two and a half minutes left.
