Rough Riders to honor Long Island soccer legend Tony Cangero

General Manager of the Rough Riders Jim Kilmeade will be presenting the 1st Annual Long Island Rough Riders volunteer initiative Award this weekend. The honor was chosen by the Board of Directors of the LISFL (Long Island Soccer Football League).

The award will be presented to Tony Cangero, Glen Cove native and Long Island Soccer Legend. It will be bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding contribution] to Long Island Soccer and for personifying the passion and integrity that has made soccer so successful on the Island. Congratulation to Mr.Cangero and his family, who will be in attendance.

This Saturday's match between the Long Island Rough Riders against the Islanders will be full of games, fans, and plenty of soccer. Pre-sale ticket orders have exceeded 4,000 and are only expected to increase during the coming days.

Pre-game activities will include an authentic stage coach offering rides to fans, face painting, and a water bottle giveaway sponsored by Wells Fargo Mortgage. Festivities, however, will not be limited to before the match. After the game, fans are invited to a post-game party which includes food and a DJ.

This Saturday's game also celebrates members of the East Meadow and Levittown Soccer Clubs. Players from the various teams will be on hand to participate in pre-game activities with the players.
