Rough Riders Offer Fundraising Opportunity

March 24, 2004 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Long Island Rough Riders News Release

(Plainview, N.Y., March 24, 2004) The Long Island Rough Riders are proud to announce the launching of a unique ticket program for the Long Island soccer community, the “Rough Riders Fundraising Program”.

The “Rough Riders Fundraising Program” provides youth soccer teams and clubs with the opportunity to raise money while attending games. Youth soccer clubs and individual teams purchase Rough Riders tickets at the already reduced rate of $8. The organization has agreed to donate $2 from each ticket sold to all participating soccer clubs and teams. $2 per ticket stays in the community!

“It’s a win-win situation. Players and coaches get to experience professional soccer, live at Mitchel Athletic Complex, while raising money in their communities,” says Rough Riders General Manager Jim Kilmeade. “Raising money with the Rough Riders is great for soccer and better for your teeth than candy sells.”

A group of 12 or more can take advantage of this opportunity to help pay for team uniforms, year end parties, trainers or tournament fees. Also included for soccer clubs are reserved seating, club or team PA acknowledgements and the chance to participate as ball girls or boys.

The Long Island Rough Riders are one of the most successful soccer franchises in the United States. Capturing two National Championships in 1994 and 2002, they have launched the careers of some of the top players in America including Chris Armas, Tony Meola and Giovanni Savarese. In 2003, the Rough Riders organization was inducted into the United Soccer League "Hall of Fame", in recognition of their 10th year anniversary.
