
Rookies Lead The Way From Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla. -The Seals were hoping to grab their first win of the season against intrastate rival Jacksonville, but the Barracudas had other plans. In their first game of the season the âCudas sank the Seals 5-1.
Jacksonville had seven players making their pro debut and two of them came up huge. The story of the night was goaltender Pat Berrigan. The rookie net minder came within 2:24 of posting a shutout. All in all he made 29 saves to earn the victory. Mike Fougere, another Barracuda rookie, scored two goals to help pace the team offensively.
The Seals lone goal came off the stick of former Orlando Seal Nick Cammarata. After carrying the puck into the zone Cammarata put the puck into the net on a wraparound, ahead of Berrigan's stick.
The Seals will regroup and get back on the ice tomorrow night in Jacksonville. The Barracudas will play their first game of the season with a puck drop at 7:05 from Veterans Memorial Arena. Fans can hear the game on Live Sports Network, directly linked from the Florida Seals home page.
Get ready for the home opener Saturday, October 29 at the Silver Spurs Arena. The puck will drop for the first ever hockey game in the Silver Spurs Arena at 7:35 pm versus the Jacksonville Barracudas. Magnet schedules and Cheerstix will be given out to the first 3,000 fans. In addition, enjoy the Zooperstars performances throughout the game and 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Captain Mike Eruzione.
