Medford Rogues News Release

MEDFORD, Ore. - The Medford Rogues (2-1) defeated the Lincoln Potters (1-2) 8-3 on Thursday night. The Rogues paid homage to the original Medford Rogues, who played here in the Rogue Valley back in 1950-51 with throwback uniforms.

Golden Oldies were rocking out of the PA as the Rogues, in their Throwback Thursday uniforms, rocked the Lincoln Potters the tune of six runs in the second inning.

Tanner Cantwell (Montana-State Billings) reached on an error to lead off the second. With Tate Cowden (Antelope Valley College) at the plate, Cantwell stole second. Cowden singled to move Cantwell to third.

A wild pitch brought Cantwell home and moved Cowden to second. Chase Fernlund (Feather River) singled to put runners at the corners for Chad Pike (IMG Academy).

Pike doubled to right field to score Cowden and move Fernlund to third.

A wild pitch allowed Fernlund to score, and then Cole Carder (Linn-Benton College) walked to pass the baton to Josh Congdon (Linn-Benton), who singled home Pike.

Rogues left fielder Josh McIntyre (Fullerton JC) singled to drive in Carder and move Congdon to third.

For the third consecutive game, the team with runners on the corners put on the delayed double steal. McIntyre took off for second, and on the throw, Josh Congdon stole home.

In his Rogues debut, Michael Moore (Linn-Benton College) took a no-hitter into the 6th inning before allowing a home-run to Charles Middleton.

Jose Chavez (Linn-Benton College) came on in relief and fired three scoreless innings to shut the door on Lincoln and pick up his first save of the year.

The Rogues hit the road tomorrow for a three-game series against the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox. After that series, they will move on to play a two-game series against the San Francisco Seals at Alameda College, starting on June 4th.

The Rogues will return home on Sunday, June 10th for Country Night, featuring a post-game concert by Fogline. It is also a Fred Meyer Family Fun Sunday. Fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $44 for Sunday home games. For each ticket package sold, the Rogues will donate $4 to Access, as part of their Zero Waste Zero Hunger campaign.
