
Rogues Win Last Regular Season Game

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Chico Heat faced off for game three tonight at Harry and David Field in the final regular season game of the year. Trailing 6-0 after the first five innings, the Rogues scored 7 unanswered runs to beat the Heat in extra innings, 7-6. The Rogues finish the regular season with an over 40-17 record and the Heat finish with a 34-23 record. The Chico Heat plated four runs in the second inning to jump to an early 4-0 lead. They then scored one more in the third and then another in the fifth to lead 6-0. Scoring for Medford began in the sixth inning off an RBI by Parker Kelly. In the seventh, Dylan Pearce hit a 2-run single then that was followed up by a 3-run home run by Braden Stutzman. Tied 6-6, the Rogues and Heat went into the bottom of the tenth inning and with a walk off single by Pearce, Medford beat Chico, 7-6. Jamie Flynn got the start for the Rogues and went 5 innings, gave up 6 runs on 8 hits and walked three batters. Cam Russ pitched the sixth and gave up just one hit. Derron Davis went three innings and did not give up a hit or a run, struck out two and maintains his 0.00 ERA. Connor Lowrie earned the win with a scoreless tenth inning. At the plate, Dylan Pearce went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored. This was Pearce's first night at the plate for the Rogues and he brought in the winning run. Braden Stutzman tied the ballgame with his 3-run home run and scored a run, now with a .192 batting average. Parker Kelly went 1-for-5 with a RBI and a .216 batting average. The Rogues and Heat face off again tomorrow night for game one of the Great West League Championship Playoffs. The Rogues will travel to Nettleton Stadium in Chico for game one that begins at 7:05pm.
