Rogues Sweep Crushers in Game Three

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Lodi Crushers met at Harry and David Field for game three of the series after Medford took the first two games. Strong hitting propelled the Rogues over the Crushers with a 8-2 victory, sweeping Lodi and maintaining the number one spot in the Great West League. The Rogues now sit with an overall 25- 11 record and Lodi falls to 14-22. Rogues scoring started early in the first inning after Derron Davis reached on a lead-off single and then was brought in with a sacrifice fly by Connor Lowrie. Medford plated three more runs in the third inning off of 4 hits, mostly off a 2-run single by Lowrie. The Rogues led 5-2 heading to the bottom of the seventh inning when they plated three more insurance runs off of two hits. Medford held onto the 8-2 lead until the ninth sweeping the Crushers. Medford bats were hot and was led by Connor Lowrie who went 3-for-3 with two runs and 4 RBIs. Lowrie's batting average now improves to .270. Cam Russ went 1-for-3 with a triple, run scored and RBI with a .296 batting average. Connor McNally also had a good night at the plate going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a .247 average. Reece Green earned his sixth start of the summer and pitched the first 7 innings for Medford. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and walked 2 but struck out 3 batters. Green's ERA sits at a healthy 1.02. C.J. Eytel came in to pitch the 8th inning and gave up just 1 hit. Colton Westfall pitched the ninth and did not give up a hit or run and maintains his 0.00 ERA. The Rogues face off with the Marysville Gold Sox tomorrow night at 6:35pm at Harry and David Field. It is Prince Night presented by 107.5 KISS FM and DJ Gemineye will be the guest DJ of the night making it (purple) rain Prince music so be sure to drive your little red Corvette out to the field tomorrow night!
