
Roger Powell Named NBA D-League Player of Month

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 3, 2007 - Roger Powell of the Arkansas RimRockers was named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in February 2007.
In 11 games Powell averaged 37.1 minutes, 27.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He converted 58-percent (106-184) from the field, 41-percent from behind the three point line (11-27) and 84-percent (81-97) from the free throw stripe.
Powell scored at least 19 points in every game he played during February, notching a league-wide season-high 46-point effort against Fort Worth on February 2, 33 more against the Flyers on February 11 and 32 against Idaho on February 16. He converted better than 50-percent from the floor in 10-of-11 games and recorded three double-doubles.
In 15 games since joining the RimRockers on January 19, Powell, an ordained minister, is averaging 35.6 minutes, 24.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. He has converted 130-of-236 (.551) from the floor and 101-of-128 (.789) from the free throw line,
Also receiving consideration for D-League February Player of the Month were Alan Anderson of Tulsa, Sioux Falls Stephen Graham, Pooh Jeter of Colorado, Idaho's Ronnell Taylor and Terrance Thomas of Fort Worth.
