CAVS ASSIGN BROWN: The Cleveland Cavaliers assigned guard Shannon Brown to Albuquerque on Friday. The 25th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, Brown is the 22nd NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season. In his first action as a T-Bird against Arkansas on Friday, Brown scored 14 and had six assists in 27 minutes.

FLYER TO BLAZER: The Portland Trail Blazers signed Fort Worth forward Jeremy Richardson to a 10-day contract of Friday. Richardson is the 14th Gatorade Call-Up of the 2006-07 NBA D-League Season.

THEY SAID IT: "It's fun to come out here with the scouts and try to guess which players will develop into NBA players. The time will come when all NBA teams have teams in this league.
