Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 1-2-1 OVERALL RECORD: 16-37-7, 39 pts., 4th Place Northwest Division

March 14 vs. Amarillo Gorillas, 3-1 Win - Despite getting out-shot, 54-17, by the Gorillas, the Rage won their third straight game at home behind a team-record 53 saves from goaltender David Guerrera.

March 16 vs. Wichita Thunder, 3-2 Shootout Loss - It was Rocky Mountain's turn to be stymied by a hot goaltender as a season high-tying 53 shots on goal produced just two tallies past Wichita's Jon Horrell, who was making his first career start. The Thunder outscored Rocky Mountain, 4-2, in the shootout to steal the victory.

March 17 vs. Odessa Jackalopes, 4-1 Loss - With the Rage leading 1-0 after two, Odessa took 13 of the third period's first 14 shots to bolt out in front, 3-1. The visitors then added an empty-netter for the final margin.

March 18 @ Wichita Thunder, 5-2 Loss - Playing their fourth game in five nights, the Rage were blitzed early by the Thunder, getting out-shot, 18-9, and falling behind, 3-0, after 20 minutes. Wichita eventually built a 5-0 lead before Dominic Noel and John DiPace scored for Rocky Mountain to avoid the shutout.

NOTES

* Rocky Mountain must win both of its games at home this week to finish at .500 on the year at Broomfield Event Center. The team is 12-14-4 at the BEC this season.

* The Rage would have liked two points in the standings, but their shootout loss to Wichita last Friday still marked their first three-game unbeaten streak of the season.

* The race is tight to finish in the top three in scoring for the club. Trevor Weisgerber (46 pts) and Mark Wires (45 pts) are a comfortable #1-#2, but with a goal and an assist on Sunday, John DiPace pulled into the lead for the third spot with 33 points. Three players are tied with 32 - Dominic Noel, Matic Kralj, and Dorian Anneck - and Nathan Rosychuk is in the hunt with 31 points.

* David Guerrera's 53 saves last Wednesday were also a personal career high for the Rage netminder.
