Denver Dynamite News Release
The Denver Dynamite are back for a second year in the Professional Arena Soccer League and they have big things in store for the upcoming 2009/10 season.
Joe SaPereira and Mac Howell return as owners and, with the addition of Chuck Estrada, head a new entity called Rocky Mountain Arsenal, LLC.
To mark the change, Howell, the team's media director, created a new logo that is more reflective of the region with a backdrop of mountains and the state colors of red, blue, and yellow.
While the team played home games in multiple venues last season, they will now call the Bladium Sports Club home for the upcoming season.
Guiding the team on the field will be John Wells, who finished last season as the head coach of the Colorado Lightning. Chuck Estrada returns as Technical Director and Goalkeeping Coach.
"There has been a strong showing in the past few training sessions with an abuntant source of talent," said Estrada. "We will be a very skillful team with great depth and experience. I'm looking forward to this upcoming season with confidence, knowing we will be more than competitive."
Last year the Dynamite made the PASL-Pro playoffs with a 9-7 record, falling to Tigres Dorados MRCI Oaxaca 10-9 in the quarterfinals of the North American Championships despite a valiant 4th quarter comeback attempt.
Not returning will be assistant coach Jeremy Gibe. Gibe elected to go to Iraq as a contractor to serve his country. "We would like to acknowledge Jeremy Gibe's contributions and involvement with the squad," said SaPereira. "He was supportive to the team and provided an added value to the team's maturing. We wish Jeremy the best of luck in his future endeavors and will welcome him back to the team when the time comes."
Another change involves the Dynamite's developmental teams. Their primary PASL-Premier affiliate will be the Highlands Ranch Heat. The Heat recently made their debut in the Premier Summer League. The Dynamite Reserves will be replaced by the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The Heat will play in both winter and summer seasons while the Arsenal will only play in the summer.
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2009/10 season as well as merchandise featuring the new logo. Both can be purchased online or for more information visit the new website of the Denver Dynamite, www.dynamitesoccer.com.
