Casper Ghosts News Release
The Casper Rockies defeated the Orem Owlz 9-8 Tuesday night, taking the series two games to one. The Rockies struck first with two runs in the 2nd before Orem tagged Rockies starter Anuery Rodriguez for six runs in the 3rd inning.
But the pesky Rockies stayed true to form, roaring back in the late innings for the win. Daniel Mayora tied the game with his first home run of the season to right. In the 7th Orem took the lead again with a Dallas Morris solo homer of off Rockies lefty Jay Metzger.
The Rockies 8th though, would provide the final drama. Casper got two runs in the 8th, with the winning run coming from the bat of Chris Cook on a sac fly.
Byron Binda worked a perfect inning of relief for his team-high fourth win, closer Andrew Johnston earned his league-best 12th save, working the 9th.
Casper battles the 9-0 Helena Brewers in Montana on Wednesday night.
