Rockford Thunder News Release

ROCKFORD, Ill. - With seven games under their belt, the Rockford Thunder are off to a great start to the season. They have opened their inaugural season in Rockford with a great fan base and an undefeated record of 7-0.

Veterans such as Kristen Zaleski and Mackenzie Vandergeest are living up to the expectations set by the team and rookies Abbie Sims, Cassidy Scoggins and Audrey Rendon have all been better than expected.

The Thunder will continue its four-game series with the New England Riptide tonight and into the weekend. The remaining three games should be much better than the series opener that saw 16 walks and nearly three hours of play.

Game Time Change

Saturday, June 9 game time with the New England Riptide has been changed from its originally scheduled time of 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. due to a scheduling conflict with the parks department. All remaining Saturday night contests will be rescheduled as well at a later date. Again, tomorrow night's game with the Riptide will NOW be played at 6 p.m.

Cat Osterman's Next Start

Osterman has made just one start since joining the Thunder as a rookie free agent this summer. In the opener, she picked up the win by defeating the Bandits 1-0 in front of a capacity crowd at Sportscore I.

Sunday is scheduled to be Osterman's next start for the Thunder, barring any additional setbacks from the minor surgery she had last Wednesday. Sunday's game time is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. at Sportscore I and should feature two of the best pitchers in the league in Osterman and Jocelyn Forest.

Her start on Sunday will also be Osterman's final home start for the Thunder in 2007. She will be away from the team from June 23-July 31 to fulfill her commitment to the United States National Team. She will rejoin the Thunder for the month of August.

Tickets are still available for Sunday's game by visiting www.etix.com or by purchasing them on the day of the game.

Post-Game Autographs

Don't forget that tonight and every Friday night that the Thunder plays at home, the post-game autograph session will take place at Players Pizza Pub. Players Pizza Pub is located directly behind the Mobil station on the corner of Main and Elmwood.

Fan Bus Trip to Chicago

The Thunder is offering fans a chance to ride the Rock River Raptors/Rockford Thunder fan bus on June 17 when the Thunder travels to Chicago to take on the Bandits. The cost is $20 per person and that price will include round trip transportation and a ticket to the game. For more information or to sign-up, contact the Thunder office at (815) 965-7000.
