The Rockets do not hold a first-round pick in this year's draft, they traded what eventually became the seventh-overall selection away in the Matthew Wedman deal back in 2019 while building up for the 2020 Memorial Cup. Seattle then in turn, moved the pick to Prince Albert for Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nolan Allan earlier this season.

Looking ahead to next year's draft, the Rockets will have two first-round picks in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft. The own their own pick and hold Regina's first-round pick, which was dealt to the Rockets from Seattle in the Dach trade.

The Rockets will make their first selection of the day when they pick 26th in the second round.
