Rocket Announce Training Camp Details

PEI Rocket training camp details were released today by the team. Once again this year, camp will be held at the Pownal Sports Center until September 1, at which time it will move to the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
45 players arrive to camp on August 13 for fitness testing with on ice-sessions starting the next day. Players will take to the ice each morning for work-outs and they will return to the ice at 2:00 each afternoon for controlled scrimmages. The team's first exhibition game is August 17, in Quispamsis, against the St. John Seadogs. The Seadogs make a return visit to Pownal the next day for a 2:00 start.
Coach Gordie Dwyer says although there is a good nucleus of returning players, camp will be competitive as everyone tries to earn their spot. "We have a core group of returning guys that should have spots solidified but there are a number of spots with no guarantees. I expect everyone to come to camp ready to compete."
