P.E.I. Rocket News Release
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the PEI Rocket have confirmed the new dates for the two games which were postponed earlier this month as a result of preventive measures following isolated cases of the H1N1 virus. The two games have been rescheduled as follows:
Baie-Comeau vs. P.E.I. - January 19, 2010 at 7:00 pm - Charlottetown Civic Centre
Shawinigan vs. P.E.I. - January 20, 2010 at 7:00 pm - Charlottetown Civic Centre
The Rocket also announced today that Finnish Defenseman, Lauri Tokoi is returning to Finland for the remainder of this year. "We felt it was better for Lauri's development at this time", said Rocket President, Serge Savard Jr. "Lauri needs to play more regularly to develop into a better player and he will get that opportunity in Finland".
To replace Tokoi on the 24-man roster, the Rocket have recalled 17 year old defenseman Vincent Richer from the St. Eustache Vikings of the Quebec Midget AAA League. "Vincent was one of the final cuts at this year's training camp and has been developing well in Midget AAA. We wanted to give him a chance to join the Rocket for the remainder of the year to give him some experience", said Savard.
Also, a reminder that the Rocket have Christmas Stocking Stuffer packages on sale now. Fans can contact the PEI Rocket office at (902) 892-7349 or administration@peirocket.com for more information.
