P.E.I. Rocket News Release

As the intensity on the ice rises and as each game over the next 6 weeks of the regular season becomes more important for the PEI Rocket, the organization has announced two promotions for its fans.

Starting tomorrow night (Friday, February 8) and continuing for each home game up to and including February 21, the Rocket has teamed up with CAA Travel to give away an all-inclusive vacation in Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. Every person 19 years of age and older that attends those games will be given a ballot which makes them eligible for a shoot to win contest during the second intermission of the game against Drummondville, on February 21. From those ballots, 5 fans will be chosen to shoot from the blue line into an empty net at the far end of the ice. The fan that scores the most goals in the shootout will win the trip valued at $3000. Full details are available on the Rocket website at www.peirocket.com .

The team has also joined forces with some local sponsors to provide a select number of free youth tickets and greatly reduced pricing on adult and senior tickets for its games on February 16 and 17. These games are during Charlottetown's Winter Fun Weekend and the organization is happy to provide the opportunity for great family entertainment at a reduced cost. Saturday, February 16, the Saint John Seadogs are in town and there are 600 complimentary youth tickets and $10 adult/senior tickets available until the youth tickets are gone. Nathan MacKinnon and his Halifax Mooseheads come to the Charlottetown Civic Centre the next day for the final time this regular season. There are 300 complimentary youth tickets and $10 adult/senior tickets available until the youth tickets are gone. You can take advantage of this promotion by visiting the Civic Center Box Office or by calling them at 629-6625.

Trent Birt, PEI Rocket VP of Operations, says "We have 9 home games left in the regular season as we battle for position in the top half of the playoff contenders. Our guys obviously feed off the energy of our fans and the support has increased drastically as of late. As an organization, we are continuously looking for ways to give back to our fans through enhancing our game day fan experience. Our players have provided the entertainment on the ice all season and we are pleased to partner with our sponsors to provide these new opportunities."
