Rocket Announce Details of 2011 Fan's Choice Awards

The PEI Rocket are pleased to announce the details regarding the 2010-2011 edition of the PEI Rocket Fans Choice Awards. The Awards Celebration itself is a special night that provides fans with a chance to get up close and personal with the players as we pay tribute to the 2010-2011 Rocket award winners.

This year's PEI Rocket Fan's Choice Awards will take place on Monday, March 21st. A reception will begin at 6:30 PM and dinner will follow at 7:00 PM. This year's Fan's Choice Awards will be held at the CCC Trade Centre adjacent to the Arena.

The PEI Rocket Fan's Choice Awards will be a tribute to the 2010-2011 edition of the PEI Rocket. Again this year, the fans will have their say on which Rocket players should be recipients of the various awards that are up for grabs. From now until March 15 Rocket fans will have the opportunity to vote for the recipients of each award. This voting will be done online through a link on the PEI Rocket Website. The list of Awards that will be presented include:

* Source For Sports Rookie of the Year Finalists

* Kevin Boyer

* Victor Provencher

* Felipe Corbo

* Michael Ortika

* Maxime Lagace

* Rodd Hotels & Resorts Offensive Player of the Year Finalists

* Andrej Nestrasil

* Samuel Morneau

* Ben Duffy

* Philippe Paradis

* Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis Defensive Player of the Year Finalists

* Evan Mosher

* Adam Polasek

* Jimmy Oligny

* Matthew Hobbs

* Murphy's Pharmacies Most Dedicated Player Finalists

* Adam Polasek

* Matthew Hobbs

* Josh Currie

* Travis McIsaac

* Confederation Bridge Fan Favourite - All Rocket Players

In addition to the Fan's Choice Awards that will be presented, the following Awards will also be presented:

* BellAliant Student of the Year - as selected by the Academic Consultants

* Mayor's Choice Community Involvement Award - as selected by The City of Charlottetown

* Mark's Work Wearhouse Hardest Working Award - selected based on the plus/minus stats

* Mooselight Player of the Year Award - As selected by the point standings for the Mooselight Three Star selections

* Budget Car and Truck Rental Leading Edge Award (Voted by the players) - This award will be given to the Rocket player that shows:1. Dedication and commitment to the team, 2. Team Player, 3. Hardest working player

Proceeds from the evening will support the PEI Rocket Player's Education Fund which provides scholarships and bursaries to players to continue their education after their playing career in the QMJHL ends.

The price of tickets is $45.00 per adult or $25.00 per child (13 and under) for this year's dinner. The event will also feature a live and silent auction with lots of sports memorabilia and local items up for grabs.
