Rocket Announce 2011 QMJHL Entry Draft Picks

After a busy week in Victoriaville, the PEI Rocket were very pleased with the new young talent that they have added to their organization. With their first pick overall they selected Ryan Graves, defence, 200lbs, 6`4" & 1995-05-21 .Graves played last season with the South Shore Mustangs.

Serge Savard Jr. was very happy with the way things went at this years' QMJHL Entry Draft. "We feel we are very fortunate to have had the opportunity of drafting a player like Ryan. He is a highly talented, pro-prospect who should be a dominate player in our league in the near future. He is the type of player, Islanders will love," said Serge Savard Jr.

As the day progressed the Rocket went on to pick players such as Yan Pavel Laplante, Carl Chenier, Michael Abbott, Kelly Bent, Jimmy Vaillancourt, Alexandre Chenier-Allard, Antione Venne, Deverick Ottereyes, Daniel Perigo, Ross Martin and Cameron Arsenault.

"It was a rewarding experience for myself to be involved for the first time as a coach, in the QMJHL Entry Draft. It`s always exciting selecting players that have the potential to help build a winning team. We are pleased with our selections and look forward to them competing for roster spots in camp", said PEI Rocket Head Coach Gordie Dwyer.
