Rockers Postpone Season Opener
September 6, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Reno Rockers News Release
Reno, Nevada - Nine Sports Entertainment LLC's CEO and president, Sean Higgins, postpones the inaugural season of the American Basketball Association's Rockers in Reno, Nevada. "Because we intend to be a high-quality, highly efficient and competitive organization, it is in our best interest to postpone our opening season until 2005," explains Higgins. "Our chief operating officer made a compelling case for us to continue to work on our infrastructure, and I believe that we are not ready to field the best competitive basketball team that we can. We have an obligation to our fans and the community to be the best and not just an ordinary basketball club. We've put our contingency plan into motion; and will continue to prepare for 2005.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
