
Rock Player Awarded Weekly Award

(Toronto, Ontario) â Thursday January 9, 2003 â This morning the National Lacrosse League announced the weekly player awards and for the second consecutive week a Toronto Rock player was awarded. Steve Toll was awarded Offensive Player of the Week for Week #2. Toll scored five goals in a losing cause against the Colorado Mammoth.
A week earlier the top draft pick in the 2003 Entry Draft, Patrick Merrill was awarded Rookie of the Week for Week#1. Merrill shut down NLL All-Star Josh Sanderson, holding him to only one goal on December 27th.
The Rock opens the NLL season at home against the Albany Attack on Saturday January 11th, 2003 at the ACC. 15,500 have been sold to-date. The best place to buy seats for this Saturday's game is most Loblaws location throughout the GTA. Loblaws is selling $32.00 red seats for the low price of $19.00 but quantities are limited.
