Rock Cats Introduce New Food Items at Ballpark

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, will introduce new concession stands this season. The team has expanded their healthy options menu and added some first time selections at the ballpark. Fans will even have the opportunity to have a hot dog named after them and be served at the stadium.

The "Spring Training" stand will offer healthier stadium choices from fresh wraps and salads, as well as gluten-free items and gluten-free beer. The concept stand will also feature high quality beers from the environmentally conscience Long Trail Brewing Company.

The Legends Diner stand will include the new Burger Bar concept will feature a variety of 1/3 pound burgers from the grill paying homage to former Rock Cats greats. Some of the selections include: the Mauer Mushroom Swiss, Torii Texas Burger, and the Chili Papi Cheeseburger and Veggie Burger.

A new concession stand will be available along the third base side of the ballpark. "The Ballpark BBQ" will offer pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, sausage and peppers, brats, BBQ nachos and freshly made warm kettle chips. Each month, a new sandwich of the month and beer of the month will be offered.

In partnership with Kayem, the Rock Cats will launch a new season long promotion in which fans can design the Perfect hot dog to be sold at the stadium. Fans will be able to vote on-line on creating their own foot-long hot dog and the monthly winner will have the hot dog named after them.

The Rock Cats open their home schedule against the Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs on Thursday, April 11 (6:05). Tickets for all home games including the Eastern League All-Star Game are now on sale at the box office (860-224-8383).
