New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - While the weather outside might be frightful, the atmosphere inside New Britain Stadium on Saturday, December 11th will be delightful as the Rock Cats - with special guest Santa Claus - will be warmly greeting their fans of all ages at WinterFest 2010. This now annual, early-Winter event presented by the Rock Cats will begin at 10:00 AM and be an occasion when families can - among other fun activities - bring their children to meet and be photographed with our very special guest from the North Pole. The festivities, which will include free coffee, food, and other refreshments, will continue until 2:00 PM.
The Rock Cats popular mascot, "Rocky", will be on hand with some of his furry mascot buddies to welcome Santa, and many of the Rock Cats' youngest fans. Those same fans can partake in Kids Arts and Crafts, Coloring Contests, and even make their own Holiday Tree Ornament.
The Rock Cats are partnering with the United Way and asking their generous fans to join them in this Holiday Season's gift giving campaign called "Games, Gloves, and Gear". You can be a Community All-Star by donating an unwrapped Game (Board and/or Card games), Gloves (Winter Gloves and Mittens) and Gear (Winter Coats, Socks and Undergarments) at WinterFest2010 for a needy child; team personnel will gladly receive, colorfully wrap, and properly redirect all appropriate gifts that attendees bring that day.
These Holiday donations will support the year `round good works performed by three local United Way agencies: The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and the Prudence Crandall Center. All fans who donate such gifts will be rewarded with a free ticket to the Rock Cats 2011 Opening Night game next April!
In addition to all of the above, the freshly-stocked Rock Cats Third Base Shop will be open for fans all day - with a Grand Slam Sale underway. Official Rock Cats and MLB Gear (Hats, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, and more) will be available at Savings up to 50%! Take care of the baseball fans on your list - and save - while you're having fun at WinterFest2010! And if you're not completely sure about your favorite fan's desires, you can't go wrong with a Rock Cats Gift Card - it's a sure thing that covers all the bases.
In addition, the Rock Cats Ticket Office will have special Holiday Packs available at this year's WinterFest. 6-Game Mini Plans ($45!), 12-Game Claw Packs* (Box Seats at any games of your choice, $100!), Stocking Stuffer (great for kids, includes a free Rock Cats cap, $30), and MVP Plans ($55) are all unique and economical ways to guarantee your fans get their baseball fix! Other Tickets Plans - "Red Sox Nation", "Yankee
Universe", and "Amazin' Mets" - will also be available. These are affordable and unforgettable gifts that enable fans to specifically target which teams' future stars they'd like to see. And, of course, they will fill the Winter with anticipation! Priceless!
In this season of giving, for every 12-Game Claw Pack purchased, the Rock Cats will donate another Claw Pack to a foster family associated with the Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents! That's a Win for everyone!
Join us December 11th and Tour the Stadium, the Clubhouse, and the Press Box. This will be fun - bring the kids!
