LOOKING FOR A WINDIANAPOLIS: The Rochester Red Wings tonight play the 3rd game of their 4-game series at the West Division-leading Indianapolis Indians (Pirates). The Wings started the 8-game roadtrip by winning Saturday's series opener 2-0 and losing 8-1 yesterday. Following this 4-game set at Victory Field, the Wings will take Wednesday off and then play a 4-game series at Louisville (Reds).
a The Red Wings return home June 18 for an 8-game stay with a pair of 4-game series vs. Durham (Rays) and Charlotte (White Sox).
LIAM ON ME: Red Wings' righthander Liam Hendriks today was named the International League Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 4-10. The 23-year-old, who signed with the Twins as a non-drafted free agent out of Australia in 2007, went 2-0 with a 15.2 scoreless innings in 2 starts. He tossed a 7-inning shutout with 8 strikeouts June 4 vs. Columbus (Indians) and worked 8.2 innings with 10 strikeouts Saturday at Indianapolis.
a Hendriks's outing Saturday was the longest start by a Wings' pitcher this season, falling one out shy of the club's first 9-inning complete game since Jeff Manship's 4-hit shutout vs. Norfolk (Orioles) June 3, 2010. Hendriks also logged 10 strikeouts Saturday for the Red Wings' first 10-strikeout game since Andrew Baldwin fanned 10 August 17, 2011 at Lehigh Valley (Phillies).
a Hendriks is 5-0 with a 1.94 ERA in 7 starts with the Red Wings. He would lead the league in ERA if he had enough innings to qualify. He is the first Wings' pitcher to start a season 5-0 since Anthony Swarzak went 5-0 in his first 6 starts of the 2008 campaign.
STILL RESPECTABLE: The Red Wings' winning streak ended at 4 games with yesterday's 8-1 loss at Indianapolis. Despite the loss, the Red Wings have still won 4 of their last 5, 6 of their last 8, 7 of their last 10, and 10 of their last 13. The Wings are 15-11 in their last 26 games beginning May 15 and are 20-18 beginning May 3.
a Rochester's 15-11 record beginning May 15 is 4th best in the IL in that time. The list:
Rank Team Record Winning %
1. Charlotte 17-8 .680
2. Empire State 17-11 .607
3. Pawtucket 15-10 .600
4. Rochester 15-11 .577
5. Lehigh Valley 14-11 .560
a The Wings tonight look to avoid losing back-to-back games for the first time since a 4-game losing streak May 25-28.
JUNE SWOON: At 7-3, the Red Wings are tied with Charlotte for the best record in the league in June. Rochester is off to its best 10-game start to a calendar month since going 7-3 in May 2009. That club went on to win its next 3 games.
a The Red Wings are looking for their first winning record in a calendar month since August 2009, when they went 17-15.
a Despite surrendering 8 runs yesterday at Indianapolis, the Red Wings still lead the league with a 2.17 ERA (21 ER/87.0 IP) in 10 games in June. The next closest team is Charlotte, which has a 2.45 ERA (24 ER/88.0 IP) in 10 games.
EXTRA! EXTRA!: The Red Wings have recorded at least one extra-base hit in 37 consecutive games, their longest such streak since July 31-September 5, 2009, when they had a 38-game streak.

a Rochester is hitting .226 (117-for-518) with runners in scoring position overall, the 3rd-lowest mark in the IL. Only Louisville (.208, 116-for-557) and Durham (.212, 109-for-515) have lower averages.
a The Red Wings rank last in the league with 205 runs scored, 18 behind the next closest team Durham, which has 223.

a The Red Wings rank 7th in the league with a .979 fielding percentage. Rochester also ranked 7th in 2011 with a .980 field percentage.
