Dallas Rattlers News Release

Cary, NC - The Rochester Rattlers used a late rally, scoring five of the contest's last seven goals to defeat the Philadelphia Barrage 20-17 Saturday night in Cary, NC. The win gave Rochester its first season-series sweep of the Barrage since the 2003 season. The Rattlers also snapped a two-game losing streak and moved into first place in the Eastern Conference at 4-2.

Philadelphia fell to 3-3 with its third loss in four games. Two of those losses have come against the Rattlers. Rochester is now 5-5 against the Barrage and has won the last three contests. In the first meeting of the season, the Rattlers blasted the Philadelphia Barrage 22-9 at PAETEC Park on May 31st.

Casey Powell (3+5) and Joe Walters (5+1) led the way for the Rattlers. Rochester's Jeff Zywicki also had four goals and one assist in his return from an injury. Rookie Brett Queener earned the win in a relief appearance, stopping four of five shots. The Barrage's Ryan Boyle had four goals and one assist. Brian Dougherty made 13 stops in the three-point loss.

Philadelphia erased a four-goal first-half deficit to take a 16-15 lead in the fourth quarter. Rochester, however, responded with consecutive goals by Jeff Zywicki, Walters and Powell to retake an 18-16 advantage. The goals are part of a 5-1 run in the latter half of the fourth quarter. Rochester's Brett Queener replaced starter Mike Levin with just under nine minutes to play.

With four minutes to play, the Barrage had a great opportunity to get back into the contest as Rattlers defenseman Jack Reid was whistled for three separate infractions and moments later Chris Schiller was flagged to Philadelphia a two-man advantage.

The Rattlers return home on Saturday, June 28th at 7:30 p.m. as they host the Los Angeles Riptide at PAETEC Park.
