Rochester Fire News Release
Rochester, MN. The ABA Rochester Fire announced Arc of Southeastern Minnesota as the official "Charitable Organization" of the team. This is the Fire's first and only non-profit corporate partner.
Arc of Southeastern Minnesota provides support, education and advocacy to persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Arc assists people with developmental disabilities to obtain the full range of civil rights, including the right to equal education, housing and employment.
Arc will have an information kiosk at every home game with a representative of Arc available to answer any questions you may have. Arc will also be raffling off Fire memorabilia and all proceeds will go directly to Arc. The Rochester Fire will also be hosting an Arc night at a home game, where Arc members will be invited to the game. As part of this partnership, The Rochester Fire will be a corporate sponsor of the Arc Celebrity Mulligan Golf Tournament. "I have personally been involved with Arc since late summer. I am excited to enter into this mutually beneficial partnership," said Quentin Berner, GM of the Fire.
To kick off the partnership, the Rochester Fire will be hosting a mini-camp for persons with disabilities on November 3rd at the Rochester Community and Technical College performance court from 930 to 11am for all Arc members. Rochester Fire players and coaches will offer one-on-one instructions on the fundamentals of basketball.
