
Robinson stays in first

It's now halfway through the NPF Battle of the Bats competition and Kate Robinson from the Akron Racers is still holding on to first-place with a total of 12 on behalf of WILSON/DEMARINI , which includes one homerun that she hit in last week's competition.
Robinson is being closely pursued by Jaime Clark (Bandits), Lyndsey Angus (Riptide) Kristen Butler (Racers) and Jenna Hall (Force). Each player in this four-way tie for second has a total of seven homeruns. Clark, swinging on behalf of MIZUNO added two homeruns in week 5, Butler added one for WORTH and Hall, also swinging a WORTH bat, added two homeruns to her total. Angus managed to stay in this second-place group despite the Riptide having a BYE week.
WILSON/DEMARINI's total to-date is now 35 with two homeruns added by Trena Peel (Force), one by Samantha Findlay (Bandits) and two by Oli Keohohou (Glory).
In addition to Hall's and Butler's contribution, WORTH had a strong showing in week 5 with one homerun by Sara Larquier (Glory) and three homeruns added by Rachel Folden (Bandits), for a total of 28 homeruns. Folden receives honorable mention for the week as the player who hit the most homeruns.
COMBAT added some power with two homeruns from Chelsea Spencer, subbing for Megan Gibson (Force), two from Angelena Mexicano (Racers), two from Nicole Trimboli (Bandits) and one by Jessica Moore (Glory). COMBAT's total now stands at 19 homeruns.
Both COMBAT and WORTH had the most homeruns hit in week 5 with a total of 7 each.
MIZUNO has a total of 16 homeruns with two contributed in week 5 by Savannah Long (Force), Clark's two and one by Courtney Bures (Glory).
Week 5 was also a BYE week for the Rockford Thunder.
