River City Rascals News Release

O'Fallon, MO - The River City Rascals are pleased to announce the signing of Scott Robinson who will be joining the team beginning in the 2009 season. Scott was the 2007 MVP of the South Coast League where he led the Macon Music batting .338 with 11 home runs and 67 RBI's.

Scott became the first high school athlete to compete in the Alaska Baseball League following his junior year in 2001. He was MVP of the Alaska Goldpanners in both 2001 and 2002 which led him to be drafted by the Houston Astros in the 7th round of the 2002 amateur draft. Due to injury, the Astros released Scott after the 2006 season. After his success in the South Coast League, the Seattle Mariners signed Scott and had him designated to AA West Tennessee of the Southern League before Scott announced his retirement due to family issues. Those issues being resolved, Scott has now signed with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League.

This is new manager Chad Parker's second offseason move in preparation for 2009. "Scott is a tremendous pick-up for us," says Parker. "He is of MVP-caliber on and off the field." "He is a proven winner that will help lead the young players to being a championship team." "He can hit and play defense on any level."

The River City Rascals are an independent professional baseball team, members of the Frontier League. The Rascals are entering into their 11th season in 2009 and invite everyone to "Join the Fan-Mily." Opening Day is May 23, 2009 when the Rascals open up against the Gateway Grizzlies. Season tickets and group packages are currently on sale now and available by calling (636) 240 - 2287 or by logging on to www.rivercityrascals.com
