Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- The United Hockey League announced on Thursday that Rockford IceHogs goalie Michel Robinson earned the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Month for the month of February. It's the second straight month in which Robinson earned the honor, as he was awarded for his play in January.

For the month of February, Robinson had a record of 6-2-0 and led all UHL goalies with a 1.57 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. The third-year goalie also received two call-ups to the American Hockey League in February, one to the Syracuse Crunch and the other to the IceHogs AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. On Feb. 18, Robinson got the start for Milwaukee, his second of the season in the "A", and turned away 29 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Peoria Rivermen.

Overall this season, the Montreal, Quebec native has a record of 19-7-2 and leads the UHL with a 2.14 GAA and a .927 save percentage. In winning the Goalie of the Month in January, Robinson became the second IceHogs puck stopper to earn the honor, and he now becomes the first to win the award in back-to-back months.

Robinson makes up one-half of the goalie tandem with Ronnie Vogel that has led the IceHogs to the top of the UHL's Western Division and the overall top spot in the UHL through 19 weeks of the 2005-06 regular season. Robinson is also the reigning UHL Goaltender of the Year.
