Indiana Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Indiana Ice announced today that the team has added forward Aaron Roberge to its 23-man roster.

Roberge adds some immediate size to the Ice line-up as he arrives in Indianapolis from the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he was a member of the Calgary Hitmen. Overall, the 6-4, 220-pound forward has played parts of three years in the WHL with stints in Portland and Calgary, where he accrued 39 points (13G, 26A) and 63 penalty minutes in 136 games. He also saw action in 19 playoff games with both teams.

"He is a very experienced player," said Ice General Manager Josh Mervis. "His size and strength will help us in many ways, especially on the forecheck."

To make room on the roster for Roberge, the Ice traded winger Sam Kelly to the Green Bay Gamblers. Kelly becomes the future considerations for Green Bay that were part of the deal that brought forward Jason Wiley to Indiana back in mid-September.

The Ice is coming off a 4-2 win last night over the Chicago Steel as forwards Tomas Klempa and Todd McIlrath each had a goal and two assists. Indiana looks to extend its home winning streak to three games tonight as the team hosts the Des Moines Buccaneeers at 7:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum. The Buccaneers are coached by former Indianapolis Ice (IHL) Head Coach Bob Ferguson. "Fergie" coached the former Ice and Chicago Blackhawks affiliate from 1995-98.

After tonight's game, the Ice concludes its weekend homestand with a 5:00 late Sunday matinee against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders from the Pepsi Coliseum.

Fans can purchase tickets for the two home games at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayres and the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices, or by calling 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
