
Robbie Family Returns to the Strikers

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL (March 9th, 2011)- The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have named Tim Robbie as the new President of the team. Tim Robbie will replace Aaron Davidson who led the team since its inception in 2005. Davidson will remain CEO of the North American Soccer League and Vice President of Traffic Sports.
The Robbie family have long been champions of soccer in South Florida and were the original owners of the Strikers from 1977-1983. The original franchise saw some of the greatest players in the world such as; George Best, Gordon Banks, Gerd Mueller, Nene Cubillas, and many more bring their talents to South Florida. With the return of Tim Robbie, the Strikers begin a new era in South Florida professional soccer.
"The return of the Strikers signals a revival in not only the Striker name but a legacy in South Florida. The Strikers were a household name in the 1970's and 80's and we are committed to becoming the best organization we can be and improving every aspect of our team, "said Strikers Team President Tim Robbie.
The Strikers begin their regular season on April 9th at Lockhart Stadium versus FC Edmonton. During the month of March, season tickets are available for $100 in celebration of the centennial of Fort Lauderdale's incorporation of a city.
