March 18, 2006 - SPHL (SPHL)
Florida Seals News Release

[KISSIMMEE, Fla.]-The Florida Seals pounded their intrastate rivals from Jacksonville 10-4. It was the second straight night the Seals reached double digits in goals.

Rob Sich continued to make his case for being the best rookie in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Sich picked up a hat trick and threw in three more assists in the Seals victory. On the season, the Windsor, Ont. native finished the regular season with 56 points (29G, 27A), leading all SPHL rookies.

Just like last night most of the Seals players chipped in their part. Justin Keller scored a goal and had three helpers. Bret Peppler also had a big night scoring two goals and later adding an assist as well.

Florida was in control the entire game. Sich scored just 21-seconds into the contest and Keller started his night only five minutes later. By the time the first period was over the Seals built a 6-1 lead.

The second period saw six goals, three by each team. Florida scored their second shorthanded goal of the night late in the middle frame, giving them 12 shorthanded team goals this season. The third period was quiet as Ryan Rivard finished the night's scoring with his 10th goal. Terry Denike played well in net earning his league leading 28th victory.

Before the Seals took the ice, fans enjoyed a huge tailgate party in the Silver Spurs Arena parking lot. Nearly 1,000 loud and excited Seals fans listened to a pre game concert performed by "Down In Front." As the game started 3,659 fans poured in the Silver Spurs Arena to watch the Seals gain their sixth straight victory.

The win clinched third place for the Seals in the SPHL standings. The playoffs will open up Friday night against the Fayetteville FireAntz. The puck drops at 7:35 pm in the best of three series.
