
Roanoke's Brad Barone Named STX Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Brad Barone of the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs is the STX Player of the Month for February.
Barone went 5-0-1 for the month, posting a 1.51 goals against average and 0.953 save percentage as the Rail Yard Dawgs compiled a franchise-best eight-game winning streak which moved them into the final playoff spot.
A native of Medfield, MA, Barone gave up two or fewer goals in five of his six out- ings, his only blemish coming in a 4-3 shootout loss to Mississippi on February 24 where he stopped 47 of 50 shots.
Currently on loan to the ECHL's Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Barone leads SPHL-Ënetminders in save per- centage (0.920) and shootout wins (four-tied) and ranks fourth with 11 wins and a 2.94 goals against av- erage.
