LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) will play a preseason game on Saturday, October 9th, 2004 at the Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke, VA. The game will feature the 2003-2004 Eastern Conference Regular Season Champion Richmond RiverDogs and the Missouri River Otters. Game time is set for 7:35 PM (EST).
"In an effort to gauge the interest of hockey in Roanoke, we feel this exhibition game will provide us an opportunity to see if Roanoke is a viable option to become a part of the UHL in the 2005-06 season," stated Richard Brosal UHL President/CEO. "I am very encouraged by the response to this point from both the city and the hockey fans of Roanoke."
The Richmond RiverDogs will begin their second season in the UHL and are led by first year head coach Donny Martin. Martin takes over the helm after serving as an assistant for the RiverDogs during the 2003-04 campaign.
Missouri will also be guided by a new head coach. Kevin Kaminski will be behind the River Otters bench as they enter their sixth season in the UHL.
