Roanoke claims Matt Carroll

GREENVILLE, S.C., February 4 – The Roanoke Dazzle has claimed guard Matt Carroll from the National Basketball Development League available player pool, according to an announcement by league director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Dazzle head coach Kent Davison.

Carroll, a 6-6, 212-pound shooting guard who can also play small forward, played in 13 games for the Portland Trail Blazers this season and also participated in the New York Knicks training camp. The Notre Dame (‘03) product averaged 3.7 minutes and 1.0 points for the Blazers, shooting .455 (5-11) from the field.

Carroll is expected to be in uniform when the Dazzle plays at Asheville on Saturday. Tip off is 7:15 p.m. at the Asheville Civic Center.
