
RoadRunners Win in Shootout

Topeka, KS- The Topeka RoadRunners defeated the Wichita Falls Wildcats 5-4 in a shootout on Friday, November 28th. Randy Swank scored the first RoadRunners goal with 5:34 left in the first period make the score 1-1. After Swank's goal, over 200 stuffed animals flooded the ice for the RoadRunners 2nd annual Teddy Bear Toss. The animals are being donated to Camp Hope with the American Cancer Society, Battered Women's & Children Shelter, and the Helping Hands Humane Society.
Matt Hartman, Travis Stevens, and Bob Marx scored during the game to make it an even 4-4. The RoadRunners where on a penalty kill for the first 2 minutes of overtime from a penalty that took place during the last fourteen seconds of regulation. Steven Shafer and Jordan George scored during the shootout to seal the RoadRunners win. The RoadRunners play at home tomorrow night for their Holiday Extravaganza.
