Topeka Pilots News Release

Topeka, KS, OCTOBER 12, 2009: Topeka RoadRunners forward Nate Milam was recognized today as the NAHL South Division Player Of The Week. The following is from NAHL.com:

Topeka forward Nate Milam put home two goals in a 5-2 victory over Wichita Falls on Friday. The 19-year-old from Westland, Mich., was also a plus-4 on the weekend as the RoadRunners skated to a two-game sweep over the Wildcats.Nate has a lot of potential and, with five goals in his last three games, hes finding his stride, said RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer. We expect him to be a big part of our program this season. He has breakaway speed and he scores both highlight-reel bombs or blue-collar, hard-working goals.

The North American Hockey League in conjunction with Sherwood awards Player Of The Week honors to a standout player from each division every Monday during the regular season. Last week, Milam and fellow RoadRunner Cole Schneider received Honorable Mentions in the category. Schneider received another Honorable Mention this week. The NAHL boasts 19 teams from Alaska to Texas to Michigan.
