Topeka Pilots News Release

Thursday night's game started with the RoadRunners determined to win game one of the weekend series. Twenty minutes and ten shots on goal later, the RoadRunners were still determined, but were headed back to the locker room with no score from either team.

The second period began completely different. At 1:16 into the period Andrew Blazek scored a full strength unassisted goal. Blazek's pass to Randy Swank would give them both the assist at the 4:17 mark with a tap into the goal from Martin Sundstedt. Topeka was able to score their first of two power play goals at the 6:29 mark with Eric Artman and Steve Shafer providing assists to Andy Inderieden. Shafer and Inderieden would connect again at 13:15 with Bryon Paulazzo getting the second power play goal making the second period a lead over the Wildcats, 4-0.

The Wildcats would not be counted out, however, converting two power plays in the third period. The team fell short over the RoadRunners with a 4-0 score.

The RoadRunners will finish up their regular home season on Friday night against the Wichita Falls Wildcats. Friday night is also Fan Appreciation Night with many prizes to be given away to fans. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the RoadRunners office or by calling (785) 286-7825.
