Greenville, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors announced today they have renewed their affiliation agreement with the NHL's New York Rangers. The 2013-14 season will be the fourth straight year the Road Warriors and Rangers have partnered.

"We are very pleased to be continuing our affiliation with the Road Warriors," said Rangers Assistant General Manager Jim Schoenfeld. "Head Coach Dean Stork has done a fine job helping to develop the prospects we have assigned to Greenville both on and off the ice. Greenville provides a tremendous environment for the players and we are excited to continue to work with Dean and his staff as we work to prepare players for the NHL."

Last season, nine players from the Road Warriors' roster received a call up to the AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolfpack. During the tenure of the Road Warriors' affiliation with the Rangers, players like Blake Parlett, Sam Klassen, Cameron Talbot, and Jason Missiaen have enjoyed success after their time in the ECHL.

"Continuing an affiliation with an NHL organization like the Rangers is extremely significant," Road Warriors Owner Fred Festa added. "This is a team that is widely recognized as one of the premier teams in professional hockey, both on and off the ice. I feel is it important to associate the Greenville Road Warriors with the New York Rangers."

The Road Warriors will continue to celebrate the affiliation with the Rangers during the 2013-2014 season by wearing Rangers-themed uniforms periodically throughout the season as well as incorporating Rangers themed and branded apparel in the teams' merchandise offerings.

"The Rangers have been great to work with both in terms of player development and marketing," said Road Warriors General Manager Chris Lewis. "Expanding our relationship to be integrated on the business operations side as well as the hockey operations side has been an important element in continuing to position our brand and grow the affinity for hockey in Greenville."
