Camden Riversharks News Release

A new ownership group led by experienced minor league executives Frank Boulton, Peter Kirk, and Steven Kalafer has entered into an agreement with the estate of Steve Shilling, the Riversharks' principal owner to acquire the team. Under the agreement, the new group will start operating the club, effective immediately.

"Steve Shilling, with the help of many public and private parties, has put together a wonderful stadium and baseball operation for Camden," stated Frank Boulton. "The Riversharks have already proven to be a key element in helping to revitalize Camden, and are a valued club in our League. Steve's untimely death last year has added complications that an estate is not structured to deal with," he added.

"This agreement guarantees that baseball will be played in Camden this year and beyond. We are confident that there will now be a stable long operation in Camden", stated Peter Kirk. "Riversharks General Manager John Brandt and his staff have demonstrated a proven excellent operating track record, and will be remaining intact, assisted by our organization," Kirk added.

Frank Boulton is the principal owner of the Long Island Ducks and Atlantic City Surf, and has been in minor league baseball since the mid 1980`s. Mr Boulton is the Founder and CEO of The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Clubs. Frank has owned two New York Yankee affiliates and as principal owner and founder of the Wilmington Blue Rocks was responsible for the return of professional baseball to the state of Delaware.

Peter Kirk is one of the best known owner/operators in minor league baseball. His organization - which will be part of the new ownership group - has been in the business of minor league baseball since 1982. They have owned and operated affiliated and independent clubs, including operating Major League spring training facilities, and are preparing to open a new team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2005. Peter has also served two terms as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the governing body of minor league baseball. Kirk's group recently announced that hall of famer Brooks Robinson has joined the organization, adding to a senior staff of well known and experienced baseball executives.

Steven Kalafer is the principal owner of the Somerset Patriots and the Newark Bears. He presently serves as Vice President of The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Clubs. Mr. Kalafer is also the President of Flemington Car and Truck Country family of Dealerships.
