Riversharks to Host 2012 Atlantic League All-Star Game on July 11th

Camden, NJ -The 2012 Atlantic League All-Star Baseball Game, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, will be hosted by the Camden Riversharks at Campbell's Field on July 11 at 7:05 p.m. Fifty of the top professional baseball players from both the Freedom and Liberty Divisions will be selected by managers, pitching staff and personnel from all eight Atlantic League teams and showcase their talent at this prestigious event.

"We are very excited to partner with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey," said Riversharks General Manager Adam Lorber. "They are committed to community involvement and are offering unique opportunities for the fans to play an active role in this year's festivities."

The Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey "Community All-Star" will be nominated by fans via the Riversharks' website, http://www.riversharks.com www.riversharks.com . Nominees must demonstrate the following criteria: true dedication to improving the community around them. The winner will be honored during a pre-game ceremony at the All-Star Game presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

In addition, featured Atlantic League All-Star coaches and players will visit local Little League fields providing community teams with batting, fielding and life lessons courtesy of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. Each child will receive one ticket to a future Riversharks game. Teams can enter to be selected for one of these clinics through the Riversharks website.

"We are proud to team up with the Camden Riversharks to celebrate players who are All-Stars on the field and fans who are All-Stars in their communities," said Jonathan Pearson, Director of Corporate Philanthropy & Community Affairs, Horizon BCBSNJ.

Preceding the All-Star Game, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, in conjunction with Ron Jaworski's "Jaws Youth Playbook", Campbell's Field will host a celebrity softball game. The game will start at 5 p.m. and will feature local celebrities and Philadelphia sports heroes. A percentage of monies generated from the celebrity softball game will be donated to a local charity.

This is the Atlantic League's 15th All-Star game. The last time the All-Star game was held at Campbell's Field was in 2004 in front of 7,237 fans. To purchase tickets, call 1-866-SHARKS-9.
