Camden Riversharks News Release

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Camden Riversharks announced the signings of Sergio Espinosa, Bryan Morgado, and Bryan Pounds today. With these signings, the Riversharks have twenty players currently under contract.

Pounds, a 28-year-old third baseman, comes to Campbell's Field after spending the 2013 season with Lincoln of the American Association. Pounds was originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 34th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He reached as high as AAA in the Tigers system, most recently in 2012.

"We are looking forward to having Bryan for the 2014 season," said Riversharks manager Ron Karkovice. "He is a solid defensive third-baseman who brings gap-to-gap power to our lineup."

Lefthanded pitchers Sergio Espinosa and Bryan Morgado join the team for their first stints in the Atlantic League.

Espinosa signs with the Riversharks after spending the last two years with the Newark Bears. The 28-year-old Cuba native reached AA two consecutive years in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Last year Espinosa posted a career-best 2.65 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 36 games.

Morgado, a 6-3, 205-pound reliever, spent last season with the New Jersey Jackals. The 25-year-old spent three seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization before coming to the Can-Am Association. He has posted better than a strikeout per inning for his career.

Karkovice said, "We are excited about the additions of these two lefties. They will be an integral part of our 2014 winning season."

The Riversharks home opener is on May 2nd, 2014 at 7:05. Ticket information is available on www.riversharks.com.
