
RiverKings' Matthew Krahn Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 13, 2013) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced goaltender Matthew Krahn of the Mississippi RiverKings is the Easton Player of the Week for March 4-10.
Krahn went 3-0-0 last week, posting a 1.00 goals against average and .966 save percentage as the RiverKings moved to within four points of fifth-place Columbus in the standings.
On Tuesday, the Winnipeg, Manitoba native stopped 30 of 31 shots in leading Mississippi to a 4-1 win over Huntsville. Krahn came back on Friday with another strong outing, making 24 saves in a 5-1 win over Columbus. He closed out the week by stopping 31 of 32 Huntsville shots in a 4-1 win over the Havoc on Saturday.
Krahn, who is in his first professional season, is 5-1-2 in his last eight outings and ranks fifth in the SPHL in minutes played. Krahn spent last season with the OCN Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, winning 24 games and posting three shutouts.
