March 26, 2011 - SPHL (SPHL)
Augusta RiverHawks News Release

The Augusta RiverHawks' eleven-game winning streak came to an end Saturday night in their final game of the regular season as they dropped a 5-0 decision to the Fayetteville FireAntz in North Carolina. FireAntz goaltender Travis Yonkman made 30 saves in his team's last game of the 2010-11 campaign as the FireAntz did not make the playoffs.

With the loss the RiverHawks finish their inaugural regular season in second place and will turn their focus to a first-round playoff matchup against the Pensacola Ice Flyers.

FireAntz' forward Mike Carter had two goals, while Jeffery Burrows, Ryan Salvis, and Trevor Karasiewicz each added goals of their own.

RiverHawks' goaltender Jon Olthuis started the game for his club, but was replaced after a first period in which he allowed three goals. Peter Skoggard took over the crease but did not fare much better as he'd allow another two goals.

The RiverHawks' playoff schedule will be announced Monday morning. Seven-game playoff packages are available at the RiverHawks Front Office at 706-993-2645. Fans can find out all the information on the playoffs as it becomes available at www.augustariverhawks.com.
