LOVES PARK, Ill. - Fans can enjoy a new brand of pizza at Rockford RiverHawks games this summer.

The team announced Monday that Maciano's Pizza is the team's new official pizza vendor. The pizzeria is known for its large menu, owner Mark Bloomfield said.

"Our most unique thing is our variety," Bloomfield said. "We have five different crusts, 25 different toppings, nine different pasta sauces."

In addition, pasta dishes, sandwiches and deserts are on the menu. Bloomfield said that Maciano's Chicago-style pizza - a pan-cooked pie with two buttery crusts, cheese and toppings - is a popular item.

At the stadium, Maciano's will sell a "double-dough" pizza, which has a thicker crust.

The store, located at 6746 Broadcast Pkwy. in Loves Park, opened in November. Bloomfield also has two locations in Aurora and stores in Shorewood and Yorkville.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season in 2008. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. RiverHawk games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
