RiverHawks schedule open tryout for May 3

LOVES PARK, Ill. - Do you think you have what it takes to be a Rockford RiverHawk?

You'll get your chance to put your bat - or arm, or glove - where your mouth is at the RiverHawks' open tryout May 3 at Road Ranger Stadium. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and tryouts begin at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $50 and includes a tryout camp T-shirt.

Players will be evaluated by members of the RiverHawks staff. Those selected will be invited to join the RiverHawks for spring training.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
