RiverHawks Release Details for J.D. Paugh Memorial Night

The Augusta RiverHawks Hockey Club, proud member of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), is pleased to announce the details of the upcoming J.D. Paugh Memorial Night for fallen Richmond County Deputy Sheriff J.D. Paugh on December 17, 2011 at 7:35PM at the James Brown Arena as the RiverHawks face off against the Mississippi RiverKings.

In a press conference held at the James Brown Arena on Wednesday morning, representatives from the RiverHawks along with Global Spectrum, Richmond County Sheriff Ronald Strength, and Mayor Deke Copenhaver released the particulars surrounding the event.

Ken Vezina, Assistant General Manager of the RiverHawks, spoke on the different ways in which the RiverHawks will help raise funds for the Brandon Paugh College Fund, Deputy Paugh's son. The Team will donate two dollars from each ticket sold that evening to the College Fund. Along with the donation from ticket sales, the RiverHawks' players will be wearing specialty jerseys during the game which will feature a patch in memory of Deputy Paugh. The jerseys will be auctioned following the game with proceeds going to the College Fund, as well. In addition to the aforementioned fundraising avenues, the RiverHawks will also have commemorative specialty pucks available for sale that will also benefit the education fund.

Bob and Diane Kerzner, owners of the RiverHawks', have also pledged to donate an additional one-thousand dollars for each RiverHawks' home game with an attendance of 3131 or more.

Monty Jones, Jr., General Manager of the James Brown Arena and Bell Auditorium, announced that Global Spectrum will donate one dollar per ticket sold that evening along with one dollar for each RiverHawks' mug sold to the education fund, as well.

Tickets for the event are twelve dollars each for both upper and lower level seating, with the exception of glass seating, and are available for purchase through the RiverHawks' Front Office at 706 993 2645, at the James Brown Arena Box Office, or online at georgialinatix.com. Corporate packages are being offered for businesses and can also be purchased by calling the RiverHawks' Front Office at 706 993 2645.
