Cincinnati Riverhawks News Release
The Cincinnati Riverhawks have announced the signing of two goal-keepers for the 2002 season. 3 year veteran Chris Wanamaker has agreed to a new 2-year contract. Wanamaker, who sat out the entire 2000 season after surgery for a torn ACL, played in the last two games for the Hawks last season. After playing in two scrimmages against the Columbus Crew this fall, Wanamaker is getting back into the form that made him one of the A-leagues top goalies before the injury.
The Hawks have also signed Michael Ueltschey, goalkeeper for the 2001 NCAA Division I National Champions, University of North Carolina. Ueltschey has started every game for the Tarheels for the past two seasons and posted a 0.73 goal against average last season. Michael also played in the USL's Premier Developmental League the past two summers in Boulder, Colorado and Jackson, Mississippi.
The Riverhawks open the season at home on May 4th against the Milwaukee Rampage. For more information, contact Lauren Westkamp at 513-591-4622.
